Yousef Kargar’s acclaimed film will be Iran’s representative at the main competition section of the 2021 edition of the event.

The film is about a middle-aged man who lives with his son. His wife has been missing for some time. All the people are suspicious of her. One day news comes to him and he has to choose one: expediency or conscience?

Yousef Kargar was born in 1985 in Urmia city in Iran. He studied Persian Literature at University. He is an MA student of Cinema now. Since 2002, Kargar has been a critic. He writes in many outlets and internet.

The film has already been shown at a number of international film events, including the Berkeley Video & Film Festival in the US, the Cheongju International Short filmfest in South Korea, and the Flickers’ Rhode Island International filmfest in the US.

Torino Underground Cinefest’s main goal is to be a showcase for independent films. Their mission is to ensure the visibility to the many small and big movies that are produced in the world.

The 8th edition of the event is currently underway from September 2-9, 2021.
